Rolling Up Another One

about

Our new song “Rolling Up Another One” is a fun little number about smoking pot. Unfortunately, the history of pot and how it’s been policed in America is no laughing matter.
Black and brown communities have suffered the most due to marijuana prohibition and the “War on Drugs,” even as it’s been statistically proven that white people use it just as much if not more. Even with legalization in some states, the rate of arrest for marijuana possession has STILL disproportionately affected black and brown people. Additionally, the legal market has been cornered by a white few, a scary number of which at one point had been on the side of prohibition! *yikes*

Both of us have been in situations where you’re smoking and you see the police driving by. Your stomach drops. Maybe they stop, maybe they pause for a second then continue on their way. Arrest us? Possibly. Kill us in the process of trying to arrest us?
We would never guess that. And sadly, that’s a possibility that too many people we know and love and countless others have to deal with every day, whether you smoke or not.

We want equity when it comes to pot (and everything else) in America. This means releasing everyone who is currently incarcerated on marijuana charges, expunging peoples records and most crucially, giving black and brown people a genuine opportunity to be a part of ALL businesses related to legal marijuana. Our friends at E.A.T. have been putting in the work to make this happen here in Illinois. This why we will be donating all of our Bandcamp sales of “Rolling Up Another One” to them/please feel free to donate to them directly as well. We appreciate your support, let’s fight for a better future.

lyrics

Pineapple Express
Super Lemon Haze
Blue Dream
Green Crack
All I do is blaze
Purple Kush
Lemon Kush
Strawberry Cough
Northern Lights
Maui Wowie, I don't ever stop
Rolling up another one
Rolling up another one
Rolling up another one
Rolling up another one
Rolling up another one
Rolling up another one
Rolling up another one
Rolling up another one
Rolling up another one

(Blake Rules)
Ever since I was a teen
I would wake up every morning and start rolling up the green
Smoking marijuana takes away the pain
Gets rid of my anxiety and opens up my brain
I'm a stoner dude
Before I leave the house you know just what I need to do
Take my mind to a higher place
So I roll a couple joints and I take em to the face
Roll a couple more to bring just in case
Any time I need to unwind
I take one to the dome
And I do it all the time
Feel that tingle in my spine
Fuck the government, I know that they lying
They say that weed is bad
But it helps us treat each other kind

Pineapple Express
Super Lemon Haze
Blue Dream
Green Crack
All I do is blaze
Purple Kush
Lemon Kush
Strawberry Cough
Northern Lights
Maui Wowie, I don't ever stop
Rolling up another one
Rolling up another one
Rolling up another one
Rolling up another one
Rolling up another one
Rolling up another one
Rolling up another one
Rolling up another one

(Rich Jones)
I put that tree to the paper
Then put that paper to flame
I need a taste of that lemon
I need a touch of that jane
Been in love w/ the reefer
Since before trains + planes
Crushed so many packs
Wish I remembered the names
Easy if I need break, great
I gotta get a couple plates, put it all into place
Some sauce w/ that shake
The plan get weighed
The joint zeppelin shaped
And the product was made
To the highest of grades, grapes
Gassed up and laced,
Taking 2 the face, fake exotics is played
I lay it right down in the tray
Take a look at what we’re rolling today
Grade A get your money’s worth
Get your money up, yeah I know times is tough
This is luxury not charity
Alright alright maybe share just a little taste
But don’t tell on me to 12 or the army
If I got something on me I’ma roll it
I’ma roll it
Don’t tell on me to 12 or the army
If I got something on me I’ma roll it

Rolling up another one
Rolling up another one
Rolling up another one
Rolling up another
